Cass MacDonald

  • Owner – Veterinary Surgeon

Cass graduated with honours from Charles Sturt University in 2014, and comes to us after gaining her foundation as a mixed veterinarian working in the country. Prior to joining us in 2024, she spent five years in the Bega and Hunter Valleys focusing mainly on dairy cattle, however in true mixed practice treated everything from guinea pigs to camels. She then spent two years at the University of Sydney as a livestock vet, and when Covid hit she had a stint as an emergency vet working for the Animal Referral Hospital. Her final role before taking over the reins from Dr Andrew was in small animal practice in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.

Cass originally hailed from Albion Park Rail prior to a move to the Snowy Mountains in 1999, and her interest in animals was sparked at a young age through her grandfather who was a shearer and horse trainer. Cassie enjoys meeting all the different pets who come to see her and has particular interest in surgery, especially orthopaedics. In her spare time, she is usually pretty busy - juggling between painting, training horses and competing in cow horse competitions, playing the drums, and showing Ayrshire dairy cattle.
